Heathland Restoration

Our Heathland Restoration project worked to increase by 50% the extent of lowland heath on the Island to support locally and nationally rare flora and fauna. This includes the Reddish buff moth which across the whole of the UK is found in only one West Wight location. Much of the work involved clearing scrub such as bramble and gorse which sometimes involved the use of diggers.
