West Wight Coppicing Group
Part of "Round 1"

Grantee:    Wight Nature Fund

Award:        £1,590

Coppicing is a traditional woodland management technique that has been used in the West Wight in the past. It offers benefits to flora and fauna.

Coppicing does still occur in woodlands of the West Wight, but not to a large extent. This project will enable Wight Nature Fund to undertake chainsaw training so as to be better equipped to manage woodlands at Mill Copse on the Western Yar Estuary and other sites for which they are responsible.
