Landscape Heritage Grants

Sorry, this grants programme is now closed to new applications, however details of those projects already awarded grant monies can be found on the Case Studies page.


Our grants programme was established to offer funding for small scale projects across the West Wight. Grants of between £1,000 and £15,000 have been awarded to projects delivering within WWLP area and which met one or both of the two aims of the programme and standard criteria. Click on the heading below to find out more about the aims.

  1. Conserve and enhance the historic and natural landscape of the West Wight.
  2. Help more people, and a wider range of people, learn about and enjoy the heritage of the West Wight.

What we have funded - The type of projects we have supported include:
  • Restoration of wildlife habitats
  • Tree and shrub planting
  • Improvement to biodiversity
  • Restoration of historic built features
  • Preserving archaeological remains
  • Educational activities on historic or ecological themes
  • Improving public access to the landscape
  • Interpretation of the landscape
  • Surveying, recording and monitoring
